If a website is actively abused (due to missing updates and / or known security vulnerabilities of an outdated PHP version), we reserve the right to change the affected domain to a current PHP version.
Please ensure that your environment remains compatible with the PHP versions that are still available. In addition to a lack of compatibility, the application or extensions used (plugins, themes, etc.) are very likely to have security vulnerabilities that can be exploited by attackers. We advise you to always keep the application and all extensions up to date.

Switch to the latest versions now and benefit from improved performance and security.
How do I change the PHP version in Plesk?
You can find the PHP version currently used for your website in Plesk in the overview under PHP settings.
If you are still using older PHP versions, make sure as soon as possible that your web applications and websites are compatible with the latest PHP version. Current CMS and web applications work with the latest PHP versions without any problems. An update of all components and plug-ins usually solves any incompatibility problems.
If problems occur when switching to a newer PHP version, you can easily switch between versions. This ensures that your applications and websites continue to function correctly while the errors are fixed.
What exactly happens during deactivation?
Deactivation automatically activates the next higher standard version. A non-compatible website may no longer function as a result.
What if I am not ready to switch to a newer PHP version?
In order to ensure the operation of up-to-date systems, we cannot refrain from deactivating outdated functions. Please also refer to our security recommendations.
Please contact our support if technical problems occur during the change or if time circumstances do not allow you to update the PHP version. We will be happy to help you.
If it is not possible to update the applications and you still have to use an older PHP version, a web storage space can be provided temporarily as an option on a separate system with PHP versions from 7.4 onwards (despite Kreativ Media GmbH's recommendation to the contrary).
